Court release white papers and typical mediation cases of foreign-related
The Qingdao intermediate people’s court held a press conference to release the Chinese and English bilingual white papers and typical mediation cases of foreign-related, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan commercial trials of Qingdao court from 2016 to 2019.
According to the white paper, the number and amount of foreign-related commercial cases accepted by Qingdao courts are increasing year by year. The types of cases are mainly disputes caused by typical international commercial transactions. The main characteristics of the cases are as follows: the regional characteristics are obvious, and the commercial cases involving Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, South Korea and Japan account for a large proportion. In the past four years, the number of cases involving Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan accepted by Qingdao courts accounted for 36% of the total number of foreign-related cases, and the number of cases involving South Korea and Japan accounted for 25%. In terms of the types of cases, the cases involving Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan are generally concentrated in international goods sales and equity transfer disputes, while commercial cases involving South Korea and Japan are mainly international goods sales and general loan disputes. The number and type of cases are closely related to the domestic and international economic development situation. The number of cases in the countries and regions along the belt and road are increasing year by year. The disputes over the bulk cargo trade involving mineral and rubber have decreased. Among them, the new types of cases involve e-commerce, financial innovation and other fields, reflecting the increasingly diversified and refined characteristics of Qingdao’s open economy;
In the next step, Qingdao court will continue to promote the quality and efficiency of foreign-related commercial trials, effectively improve the quality and efficiency of handling cases, give full play to the role of foreign-related commercial trial functions, promote the development of multi-element resolution mechanism for foreign-related commercial disputes, handle foreign-related commercial disputes fairly, diversely and efficiently, and comprehensively upgrading of services one of the “one belt, one road”.
